hey! good job laney u reminded me to blog
very cool u went to cali elaine! im jealous. that sounds so fun. so this past weekend i went to waco and got to see jen, kourt, mel, grace, kyle, and many more. it was so fun. and just like old times i didnt go to the game! haha i hate going to football games unless i have a beer in hand. but i went to crickets and kourt had a party which was super fun. so last friday i had an interview with an eye doctor place in kingwood and it went sooo well finally. they were so complimentary of my lack of experience haha and were thrilled about how "qualified" i was. they even said "we can see you being a leader!" so hopefully i get it. if i don't i know it is because they don't know how long i will want to be here in kingwood.
also i shadowed a nurse practitioner yesterday which was really cool. he works at memorial hermann in the medical center as a gi specialist. it was sad, but also really cool to see all the patients and diagnoses. but it was interesting because aparently nurse practitioners are the same as PAs as far as duties go. which is cool so i am going to talk to a nursing advisor and see if i have all the prereqs for a fast track program which is a year and then go to grad school after to get a nurse practitioner degree. that would be sweet then i wouldnt have to wati another year if i dont get into pa school this year.
still sad about me and the beaux breaking up. we miss eachother, but weren't willing to do the distance thing anymore.
anyways, over and out!
miss you.

Hello Lovlies
So not much has changed around my neck of the woods. I am doing this "nannying" job for these hilarious little boys- ones in 5th grade (reagan) and the others in 7th (ryan). I pretty much just pick em up from school and do their homework and then we play wii haha. i'm actually doing this blog right now while i'm at their house cause they are playing x box so i get bored. but thats about the extent of my out of the house outings. haha not really but kinda. so since thats just kinda after school hours i'm still looking for a part time job in the AM to make some more money in the mean time.
I miss you guys like crazy. I so miss even just sushi and couch company watching our shows, beats the heck out of doing it alone or worse.... with the parentals!!! ahhh. they are sweet as pie but its just not the same at all...
I hadn't seen Jared in over a month, since his bday in August and they've had a lot of family problems and his mom and step dad split up so he was having a hard time with that and been kinda down about work, even tho TOMS is awesome. So I planned a last minute trip and went out there this weekend and just got back this afternoon. it was just a short little 3 1/2 day thing (since i had to pick up the boys still the rest of this week) but it was good to see him, long distance succckkkkssss. I know you are probably sick of me talking about California, but thats the only interesting thing I really ever have to write about. lol --> so since it was such a short trip we crammed in a lot of things and i can't wait to go home and take a nap later. but we went to the santa monica beach ( hes like 15 mins from there) meet his roomies and all the other girl interns. I was kinda worried about them before/ just cause i didnt know what they were like not that i was worried sweet little jared would do anything but they all spend a lot of time together soo it was good to see that they were no competition or concern anymore lol. but anyways we went and had drinks with them the first night and it was also his sisters bday so we had a family party that sunday, monday jared took off work and we just hung out on the pier and ate at some really cool restaurants, and he tooke me to see TOMS headquarters and Blake's desk (the founder). I probably wasnt supposed to see but one of the people had shoes out on her desk of the new lines they are bout to start selling online. so that was really cool. i also got to see ashley laws :) shes still out in LA for the rest of the month but she just finished fashion design school and is moving back home once her lease is up-- just like the rest of us haha. but we went and had din with her and she said she always sees celebrtities and has even met a few it was cool to hear her talkin about some of it. shes so funny about how she tells stories. made me miss our group dinners after meetings when the older girls were still there.
Anywho nothing to exciting up and coming for this little girl, but kath-- i hope your all settled in to your new place.. post some pics so we can see the new pad!! lol. meg-- weekly dinner soon, if not we still need to get our dresses sized this weekend and i am excited for jay and noes fball game. and di-- i miss you and am sad i couldnt make the waco trip with you this past weekend. maybe another time! kourt hope your doing well with grad school, i have no doubt that you are! hope yall are doing good!! love ya

I am sounding more and more like a mom everyday...
Hey girls!!
Ok so I think I've told some of ya'll already but what better place to spread the word than on our lovely blog :) I just wanted to put in a quick prayer request for my little connorbear!
His parents have known since he was a couple months old that he has a lower immune system than most babies his age. but a few days ago he had some bloodwork done to check the amount and quality of antibodies in his system. basically antibodies are the cells that fight off infection and he has a low number of these which makes him really prone to getting sick. they've known this for a while so in these past few months that ive been working for him, we haven't been able to have any play dates with other kiddos because he can catch pretty much any little cold or flu other kids have!
ANYWAYS, his parents are most concerned because while its normal for some kids to have low antibodies, the bloodwork showed that his level is too low. they're also afraid he doesn't make any or enough T memory cells. the way kristin explained it to me is that when you are exposed to a strand of the flu you've never seen before, typically you get sick. but after that, your body recognizes that type of flu the next time you encounter it and rather than getting sick, your body fights it off becuase the T memory cells tell your body what to do. so if Connor doesn't make any/enough of those, he could get sick over and over and his body wouldn't remember how to fight off even just the common cold when he comes in contact with it. this would mean he would have to be on an IV type of treatment indefinitely (it could be just for a few months or for the rest of his life)
so if you have a minute today, send up a prayer to the big guy for connor and his parents. poor kristin is a doctor for children with allergies and immune system problems so she is well aware of how bad connor's condition could get. so just pray that the results come back promising and that he will be able to get over this little bump in the road and be a normal healthy little man :)
much love! kath

more to say
alright so i got the job in dallas for the lab support position that i've been interviewing for, but yesterday they told me it was a night shift and i am not interested in that. so i had to decline it. im pretty sad about it because i wasn't wanting to do that, but i had to.
so i'm going to start volunteering soon. i go in thursday to sign up for that. im gunna try and stay here and volunteer/shadow while working part time to get some cash.
my fam wants me to go to baton rouge because there are a couple of job openings in a hospital there, but im not too fond of doing that. plus i wouldn't be close to anyone at all. and i would have to live with my aunt and uncle. any suggestions about this? what do yall think?
kinda in a bummed mood.

ps- check out the movie post grad. it describes our lives to a T
