hey babes! its kath! i feel like ive been super mia lately and i have lots to fill you in on! just a heads up this blog is gunna be long-ish, random, and kinda choppy because connor's chillin next to me so i'm kind of having to multi-task. my life right now consists of: connor (duh), lsat stuff, trying to stay in shape, hangin out with old high school friends and all the crazy drama that seems to cause, going on a couple dates (don't get too excited haha), and getting ready to move out on SEPTEMBER 18TH!!!!! here's a little run down of everything...
connor's doing great! he's getting super big. kristin and i pretty much have weekly whine-sessions about how fast he's growing up :( still no crawling yet but he does have 2 teeth :) and he's taking his naps upstairs in his crib like a big boy! he used to only nap in his swing downstairs so he could be in all the action. i have been taking tons and tons of pictures and videos of him this summer and last week i put together a little photo album for his parents. they absolutely loved it! there are around 50 pictures in there right now but im gunna add to it little by little. besides that, he's just the same old little dude.
lsat stuff is going pretty well actually! my goal is to score in the upper 150s-160. the book im using recommended taking a practice test blind just to kind of see where you stand and i made a 151!! so hopefully that's a good sign that my mind can at least grasp what im being tested over. if i get myself motivated enough, studying for it really isn't that bad. its just hard to stay on schedule with it all but if i give up a few nights a week i can get back on track
the whole running thing has kind of fallen on the back burner. a couple weeks ago my parents suggested that all of us (minus kara of course) run the half marathon in january but all the spots were filled... dang. plus there was a mugging in connor's neighborhood a few weeks ago and so i decided to cut back on running here just because, lets face it, i could do nothing to defend myself and connor against a couple of "mean guys". (that's what we used to call criminals when we were little haha!!)
hangin out with high school friends has been good its just weird. a few of yall have met lauren and of course ya'll know kathryn. i hang out with them most of the time and thats fine but last night we were out and met up with a tonnn of girls from high school and it was just really odd how some people don't change at all and other people act like they don't even know you! yanno??
ok so here's the deal about the dates. connor's mom kristin told all her friends that i was catholic, single, and looking haha. her friends laura and joe are friends with this guy rob who's younger brother is sam. long story short, he's 25. graduated from TCU. is an accountant. went to st thomas high school where a ton of my guy friends went. he's catholic and loves sports. yadda yadda yadda. so he got my number and we talked a few times and then we went out on sunday just to meet up. things were pretty good but at the time i was like hm... are things good because i really could like this guy or are they could because a blind date could've gone sooo much worse lol. within like the first few minutes of us meeting he told me that he wasn't a dog person.... ooooh burn. lol minus 10 points already! haha jk! but cmon can ya'll really picture me with a guy who hates dogs? so i got past that and the conversation flowed pretty easily. we talked a lot about partying and crazy stories so of course yall came up in the conversation ;) so we ended up sitting at this casual little bar for like 2 hours! and then went to dinner after that. all in all it was a good meeting but i wasn't positive our personalities meshed. but when he asked me to go out again i figured i had nothing to lose yanno? and thats when things started getting kinda weird... he called to tell me where we were going and made some comment about how "i probably wouldn't like" this bar he was gunna take me to... hm... weird. and then he said "i GUESS ill pick u up.." um... buddy its a date! yes you pick me up! anyways, the phone convos before the actual date were kinda weird but i didnt wanna dwell on it. so he picked me up, met a few of the ppl at my house and handled that pretty well. but then we were heading to the car and he didn't get my door. i'm not one of those girls who HAS to have the door opened for her AT ALL but on a true date i just think that's what they should do! kinda like how they SHOULD come pick u up! anyways we got to the restraunt and he was talking about how he'd taken a fine foods/wine tasting class recently. so when we got the wine list i told him that i really didnt know what i wanted to order and asked if he would suggest something or pick something for me that he thought would be good. and he just said "no." weirddd... and then when the waitress came to take our drink orders i just said "ill have whatever he's having" and then when the waitress turned to him, without even looking up from his menu he goes "i'll have the second from the bottom". and she goes "ok. sorry from which list the red or white?" he like rolled his eyes and was like "whichever is on the first page" and so she named the wine just to double check thats what he wanted and he like interrupted her and was like "thats fine". she kinda gave me a pity look like ohhh hunny its gunna be a long dinner for you. he was seriously so rude to the waitress! but i figured i had a long date to get through so i just started asking him random questions and literally EVERYTHING that he could put a negative spin on... he did! he's going to austin this weekend with some friends but had to throw in something negative about it. he's training for a half marathon but claims that he hates to run? i talked about how much i love chicago and he just went off on how horrible their accents are. i mean seriously it was like something out of a movie! wow ok i didnt realize how long this blog was getting lol! ill try and wrap it up. basically we finished dinner and went to this bar (the one he said i wouldn't like) and met up wiht his roommate and his roommates girlfriend (who of course sam claims is a bitch and is going to screw her boyfriend over...) and then he took me home. when we parked in the drive way, yet again he goes "i GUESS ill walk you to your door"??? seriously wtf!!! haha!! he met kristen for like 2 seconds when he dropped me off and the minute he was out the door she was like "ok ... um ... no." haha
so that sums it up! sorry that was such a long post but i just couldn't that stuff out! i miss you girls soooooooooooo much and i hope ya'll are all doing well!!
its time for connors nap! i'm a bad nanny and blog while the baby's sitting right next to me... oops! haha!

haven't blogged in a while
sooooo lets see. saturday i won something for the first time in my life! i got these radio headphones from the oscar meyer weiner truck outside of heb hhahaha. they had a little spin wheel thing and i won the grand prize lol.
sunday night i went to dallas and i got back today. it was fun! got to see kourt, megs, and stephen.
i might be taking classes at ut dallas this fall because i need 8 more hours of upper level bios for a pa school in louisiana. but all my transcripts have to be recieved by saturday so im hoping they all get there ASAP!!
the beach is this weekend and i cant waiiiiiit!

sick of my classes

hey ladies! i'm so excited about this blog :) well here's an interesting story about how retarded i am. i'm sure you all remember that i am supposed to be taking my certification test this friday...well turns out i'm not that bright and can't even figure out how to register for the damn thing! i registered in may for the test, and figured that was it. OH NO. you have to register AGAIN...but by July 2nd...and THEN schedule a test site and date...SO RIDICULOUS! thus, i will continue to study and freak out about it until NOVEMBER when it's offered again. oh well! at least i can still go to the beach! so excited! i love you girls and had an AWESOME time this weekend! (it's pretty much the only time i went out this summer-sad i know!) but yes...i also am sick now haha...well i already was sick and finally got some drugs to get over it! yay! peace out girl scouts.

hello pretty ladies! wow i can't believe its been so long since i blogged! honestly not too much has happened but ill fill yall in on my pretty mundane life.
chicago was pretty awesome! it was the first time though, that i was really homesick and i don't know why! i think im getting super attached to connor and i was actually missing my little daily routine with him. kelly picked me up from the airport and she and i went out downtown my first night in chicago. the rest of my family took a car to grandma's house and we met up with them the next day. i might've already told some of ya'll this story but its definitely blog worthy so ill tell it again :) most of the bars downtown close around 2 AM but there are several that stay open much later (til like 5 or so!). kelly, my cousins kathryn, shea and mark and my cousin's friend jenae and i were all out together and when we got to the "late night bar" we were all feelin pretty good. it was a really cute place and they played fun oldies music and stuff. like the type of fun music you would hear at weddings. so we were all dancing and having a good time. i was dancing with kelly and this cute girl came up and was like um my friend wants to dance with you! he seemed really cute. super tall and kind of a baby face. so we were dancing to something innocent like the twist or something. but when we were dancing a little closer he STARTED KISSING MY NECK!!!! ahhhhhhh violation!! so i pulled away a little and was letting him spin me around and then we get closer again and well... long story short. this dude was pitching a tent right there on the dance floor!!!!! no shame at all and it was freaking OBVIOUS! so i looked over at my cousins and my sister and eventually eased my way out of that situation. gross!!! haha oh and his name was ernie! which just makes the story even better!! hahaha
so yeah that was pretty much the highlight of the trip. visited a lot with my family. had some good talks about my future blah blah blah
about a week ago i registered for the LSAT. im starting to get after the studying and preparing and all so we'll see how that goes. im probably gunna look into taking the GRE or GMAT and apply to some other grad school programs in case the law thing doesn't work out. i just want to get the ball rolling so i have some options
my sisters and i are still desperately trying to move out of our house but last night we had our first meeting with my parents about it and it looks like i would be paying for everything if i did move out. and that means i wouldn't be saving hardly anything. plus my mom started talking about how once we move out...that's pretty much it. not like we wouldn't be welcome to live there again but she wouldn't be planning on it either. she would probably change my room and they're even talking about moving to a smaller house. i dont know why but all that stuff just makes me wanna curl up in a ball and cry! i hate growing up sometimes!!! especially when she started talking about how hard all of that would be on kara. ahhh... so we'll seee!!
besides that im just babysitting and trying to stay in shape as best i can. im definitely planning on going to dallas this weekend so we all must do something!!! i miss you all desperately!!!!!!! call me!

im lazy
hey girls
my weekend was awesome. stephen came into town and it was so so so so so fun. we went to dinner, went out, hung out with my friends, went on the boat, and got to see his cousin too. he loved kingwood and we had a bitchin time together. so i got a call from childrens medical center in dallas wanting me to come to an invitation only information session thurdsday. and i got a call from this lady at this plastic surgery clinic that is going to call me wednesday and wants to interview me friday. so hopefully that works out! kath might come with me to dallas or at least meet me there friday. if anybody wants to go on a party boat in dallas next saturday you are welcome! stephen is an old fart and is turning 24 so they are having a party. it will be kick ass and i highly recommend it. hmmm i guess thats all that is going on in my life at the moment. except i miss yall so much. can't wait to see everyone very soon!

hello lovers
hello my faraway friends haha...
not too much exciting to update you on. but wanted to say hi :)
oh i meant to tell yall, i bought catch phrase for a party we went to on fourth of july, and its not nearly as fun or the same as when the waco crew played it. haha
jared's been visiting me this past week and a half or so. its been fun. we went to austin just a few days ago, jared had a job interview so we made a mini trip of it. not as great as i thought the trip would be, our hotel was really nice and austin seemed cool only he got a second interview which lasted the WHOLE 2nd DAY!! F*ING sucked. I had to entertain myself in austin from 8am-6pm!!!! Luckily I had the hotel till 12 but after that i literally felt homeless, i went to the outlets by myself, ikea, mailed some cards, and sat at starbucks for two hours reading and drinking coffee haha. i felt way emo. and i decided if common grounds were a city it'd be austin. jared pretty much got offered the job but didn't seem like a good fit so he turned it down. back to square one -- where i've been for quite sometime haha.
another funny story we went to burger's lake today. (MEG you ever been there? its in f.w.) and it looked really cool online and i've heard my brother talk about it before so we were bored and took my sister and one of her friends. wellll we show up and we are definitely the oldest ppl there besides the life gaurds haha. so we just got to be kids all day. it was pretty fun, they have all these slides and diving boards and a trapeze!! that go right into the lake. only my clumsy ass could not do the trapeze for the life of me. my hands were all slimey from tanning oil and i fell off onto the safety tarp below hahaha and had to crawl into the water. yeahhhh. but i mastered it by the end of the day haha. tomorrow my fam leaves for illinois for a week to go visit my mom's side of the family. and i have yet to start packing. blah. so come to think of it i'm going to go work out and get started on that. love yous guys.

Being a Grown up is overated
Hey girls,
I hope you are all doing amazing.. Diana I am sorry about you being lonley right now but I know things are all going to work out and be amazing. And I cannot believe LP thats so exciting.. Kath I hope you had a blast in Chicago I cannot wait to go in septemer..Elaine I hope you and jarred are having so much fun togther..Jen hope the weekend at the lake was so fun and you got really tan lol! I had a great weekend it was 3 days which is awesome.. I found the best place we all have to go if were ever all in dallas its called the flying saucer and you can get whats called a flight of beer which is 10 and its in double shot glasses and you test 5 different beers it soo fun and they ahve huge pretzels and over 200 beers its like crickets on crack! So i think that would be so fun for us to all go! We had abunch of people to jeffreys on friday it was lots of fun and the fireworks were great it was just missing yall.. I saw my sisters keeper on sat and cried my eyes out and then I tried fellowship of las colinas sunday and just wasnt feeling it so the church hunt is still on.. Then i officially started my classes last night it is going to be a long month getting up this morning was rough but at least the only over lap for two weeks..in the mean time i have some different workshops for my science class so its busy busy month of july i cannot wait for vacation in august it is going to just be my mom annie and I so that will be a nice thing for the 3 of us.. Then school starts.. Im sad Ill miss the beach weekend in galveston.. :( but i know youll have a blast!! some people not mentioning any names(jen,kath and elaine) need to update the blog I want to knwo whats going on.. i love you all and miss youso much!

can i rant for a little? i fucking hate being at home. i have no motivation to do anything and it drives me crazy. none of my friends want to go out, and it makes me fucking depressed. i cant wait to move hopefully soon with megs!
also im going to be so selfish and say i am not looking forward to my cousin's wedding this weekend. mostly because it is ruining all the july 4th plans i wanted to have with my friends. but also it's hard to be happy for someone who is getting married because i get jealous. does anybody ever feel that way? talk about miss pessimist, but hey girls gotta rant. i think weddings these days are so overdone and people forget why two people are getting married. who gives a shit about all the fucking showers, brunches, rehersal dinners... its about 2 people falling in love. i think i will elope and invite you guys and my immediate family when i want to get married. alright enough of that my aunt is here so im gunna go. i love you guys so much! please come see me in houston im miserable.

Hi sweet friends,
It seems like its been a while..wow has this been a strange week..by now we all know about emily stuller I honestly cannot grasp it. It is so weird to think that it could have been anyone of use in an instant it just makes me realize how precious everyday is..i am so blessed to have yall and love yall very much..on another note two weeks from tom is my last day of summer school I officially start my classes on monday from 7-10..i started working out again this week I went yesterday with a trainer and I am dead today he was awesome though but I cant afford him :( I ran 3 miles today and it sucked bc i was missing my running partner..i think I may do another half marathon in october but we shall see..lets see this weekend were watching fire works in addison anyone is welcome to come by jeffreys apartment! Next week I am going over my curruculum for the fall so taht will be good to kind of get an idea of what I am doing.. in august I am going to see a tribute to the beatels at bass hall and on a week vacation to florida.. then school starts :) I am trying to adjust to being really broke because it looks like finances for hte next year will be tight but I think after that I may have a grasp on it.. I need to find a new hobby becasue my current one (shopping) is a bit to exspensive...any ideas??? I miss you all so much and really want to see you maybe sept? ugh this sucks.. anyways I pray for yall constantly and love seeing what is going on in your lives..

It is so weird to think that it could have been anyone of use in an instant it just makes me realize how precious everyday is..i am so blessed to have yall and love yall very much..on another note two weeks from tom is my last day of summer school I officially start my classes on monday from 7-10..i started working out again this week I went yesterday with a trainer and I am dead today he was awesome though but I cant afford him :( I ran 3 miles today and it sucked bc i was missing my running partner..i think I may do another half marathon in october but we shall see..lets see this weekend were watching fire works in addison anyone is welcome to come by jeffreys apartment! Next week I am going over my curruculum for the fall so taht will be good to kind of get an idea of what I am doing.. in august I am going to see a tribute to the beatels at bass hall and on a week vacation to florida.. then school starts :) I am trying to adjust to being really broke because it looks like finances for hte next year will be tight but I think after that I may have a grasp on it.. I need to find a new hobby becasue my current one (shopping) is a bit to exspensive...any ideas??? I miss you all so much and really want to see you maybe sept? ugh this sucks.. anyways I pray for yall constantly and love seeing what is going on in your lives..
